It is said if you give your lover a moonstone necklace when the moon is full you will always have passion with each other. Moonstone is a highly valued gemstone for these reasons:

• Assists in foretelling the future
• Enhances intuition
• Promotes inspiration
• Brings success in love as well as business matters
• Offers protection on land and at sea

The moonstone is associated with the moon and was the stone of the goddess Diana. The most powerful time to use the moonstone is in a full moon.
It has been worn as an amulet to bring good emotions to the wearer, while protecting those of a sensitive nature. It can reunite lovers who have quarreled. Moonstone is also considered a good luck stone.
Moonstone is a very personal stone. It is a reflection of the person who owns it. It does not add or detract, only shows how it is. This is why the moonstone is said to perceive that which "is". Moonstone is an excellent stone to use in meditation to understand oneself. Placing it in the moonlight of a moon reaching its fullness, not a full or waning moon, can revitalize it. This is a particularly good gemstone for women. It is a good stone for young women or teenagers.

Healing properties of Moonstone

Moonstone is used by healers to stimulate the functioning of the pineal gland and balance internal hormone cycles with nature's rhythms. Moonstone is a stone of inner growth and strength. Though often considered to be a woman's stone, it can be beneficial to men in opening the emotional self. 

Sources of moonstone

There are two moonstones. Adularia moonstone is an almost transparent pale gray or silvery white or blue shimmer. It is mainly found in Sri Lanka, Burma, India and Madagascar. Albite moonstone is in the feldspar group. It is semitransparent with a pale, shimmering reflection. It may be a little dull. It comes mainly from Canada.

The Empress

Introduction: The Empress is an archetype of feminine power; she is watery, hard to fathom, mysterious, fertile, and sexual. She augurs a need for us to be in touch with our feminine side, to listen to our intuition, and to give priority to our emotions an passions. She can signify coming abundance.

General: People are going to be more attracted to you than usual (in every sense) and you are likely to find people on your doorstep, wanting your advice/your shoulder to cry on. This will be beneficial to you because you are now going to be able to see yourself more in the way that others see you - as someone with wisdom, and a lot to offer. So share your hard-won perspectives on life, know that your wisdom and caring is valuable.

Work: Things should be going very well for you. People will be inspired by your ideas, your passions, and your way of doing things. Let your ‘inner voice' guide you in how you operate. The empress directs us to follow our bliss, and that the rest will follow.

Love: This is a potent time for love, you may find that men and women alike are suddenly finding you far more attractive (both in terms of friendship and romance,) and you will want to be careful with how you use this power, as it's very potent. If you are single, this is a time when love - true love - could very well come your way. Committed relationships often become sweeter, deeper, and truer under this influence. 

Finances: This card shows an excellent time to make investments, follow your instincts about them. Money should be flowing very well. Be sure to "keep the flow going" by putting back out a little of what you have, to a person or cause that is important to you. Share your abundance.

Health: If you're trying to get pregnant; this is an excellent sign that this may be forthcoming. If you're not ready to be a parent and pregnancy is a possibility for you, this is a time when you want to be triply careful. If you're having health issues of any kind, ponder them from a different point of view; what is your body trying to tell you? Consider adding some sort of naturopathic or homeopathic approach to your health regime.

Spirituality: Your intuition may well be trying to send you a message during this time also. It will be important to listen closely to it now and if that requires that you make time alone, even though there are others that need you, then making time alone needs to be a priority. Heed any messages or warnings that seem to come to you now through your "inner voice."

The Magician Reversed

Introduction: Even when reversed, the Magician is about making higher - and better - use of all of one's power. The reversal, however, can indicate that one is hesitant about making the necessary changes in order to use their power in a more spiritual and more effective manner. Consider what it is that you are afraid of. Is it that others may not like “the new you?” You’re right, they may not. However, this is no reason to not step into who you really want to - and are meant to - be.

General: When the Magician shows in reverse, you may be overlooking the synchronicities, which could be pointing you in the direction you most want to and need to go. Again, when this card is reversed, you could be doubting yourself unnecessarily and causing yourself (and those around you) problems as a result.

Work: Receiving the Magician in reverse can indicate a resistance to needed change when it comes to your working life. The truth is that nothing stays the same forever, change and newness is a part of life. Don’t cling to the past.

Love: The Magician reversed can indicate that you are losing faith in your ability to find, attract, and keep new love, if you are single. This attitude must be stopped – now, in order for you to be successful. In a committed relationship, this card in reverse can show a hesitancy to talk about what it is that you really want and need. It’s time to be brave and to communicate these things. 

Finances: When the reversed Magician appears, it can indicate feelings of helplessness and of being “stuck” when it comes to money. The truth of the matter is that you can make changes, and you can improve your lot in life, if you will try. If you do what you have always done, there is no doubt that you will basically get what you have always gotten. Think about changes and new ventures that you could try. You may find that they are far more successful than you’d expect.

Health: The Magician, even in reversal, is a good signifier for improved health. Take good care of yourself, and seek medical counsel if you need it. Believe in your body’s ability to heal itself. You are likely to be feeling much better fairly quickly.

Spirituality: When this card appears reversed, it indicates a need for new experiences and perspectives and even new input into the way you think about and function with your spirituality. It’s okay (and in fact, it’s desirable and healthy) for your spiritual approaches and thoughts to change over time. Try new things. Talk to people who see things differently than you do. You will both benefit.

A snappy little dog can mean a bad temper. Washing a white dog represents a need to cleanse oneself of a bad aspect of oneself.

This card reminds us that we have the power to make a difference, in our lives and in the greater world, if we simply make a point to try.

General: You may notice many synchronicities, which point towards deep, spiritual events taking place regardless of the "importance" of their superficial appearances. You should be finding that you have the knowledge, strength, and inspiration needed to meet your challenges. In general this is a very positive time for you.

Work: There will be an improvement in your work/career life. This points to an excellent time to find new work or to ask for and receive a promotion in your current job if that is possible. Particularly if your work is in a creative field, this is a time when your suggestions and work will be met with excellent comprehension and may lead you to "bigger and better things."
